KATY OWENS PHOTOGRAPHY

It started in eight grade when my grandpa mailed me a little digital Kodak point-and-shoot. Soon every moment was captured and "Katy" became nearly synonymous with "camera." I was enamored with these frozen moments, bits of life saved for others to experience with me. My hobby quickly developed into passion. I was fascinated with the ordinary, the everyday objects, things often overlooked in the grand sceme of life. Things small, broken, commonplace, I wanted to bring their beauty to the world. To share the glory I saw in a tiny flower, a broken bottle, a faint smile. 

As time continues and my photography is ever-changing, I still find myself drawn to beauty, and feel the desire in my soul to bring out this beauty and share it with others. People are more fascinating to me now than objects, but in all things I find great joy in showing something or someone's fullest self. For there is deep beauty in all things, and people are the most precious of all, to capture them is a privilege.
